Safe Journey Sanctum (SJS), a project of the Heartland Transpersonal Alliance Inc. (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Missouri), provides trauma-informed, consent-based peer support for individuals navigating intense emotional or psychedelic experiences at festivals, concerts, and community events. We believe challenging moments can become opportunities for growth, learning, and healing.

Inspired by models like the Zendo Project and Harmonia Sanctuary, we create comfortable, welcoming spaces with seating, soft lighting, art supplies, and compassionate volunteers who listen without judgment—offering presence rather than advice.

Our work extends beyond the sanctuary. We provide harm-reduction education, overdose-response training, on-site drug testing, and event safety notifications. Through partnerships, trainings, and shared resources, we strive for a world where peer support and harm reduction are accessible wherever they’re needed.
